BenQ XL2411Z Faint Horizontal Line

Hi. Another topic about faint horizontal line, though my situation seems to be different.

My BenQ XL2411Z started displaying a single, very faint horizontal line at the lower part of the screen.
  • The Line is pretty faint. My Galaxy S5's camera has a hard time picking it up.
  • I did tamper a little with the PC before noticing The Line. That included re-seating the RAM and the GPU, re-plugging the monitor cable.
  • It's possible that The Line has been there before and I only noticed it now.
  • The Line seems to disappear on lower than 120Hz refresh rates, as well as on most non-native aspect ratios.
  • I don't have another GPU for testing. Obviously The Line is not there on iGPU as it won't go above 60Hz.
So. Does the problem seem familiar to any of you? Anything I could try to remove The Line? RMA is an option, but to be honest The Line doesn't get in the way enough to be worth the hassle IMO (unless it can get worse with time?). Thanks for your input.

Run Jscreenfix Deluxe overnight a few times and don't leave browser windows sitting on your computer when you're not there. Should be gone within a week.

If it was a burn-in thing, shouldn't the line remain as long as the screen is on, regardless of aspect ratio/refresh rate? I forgot to mention, the line is 1px width. Stretches all the way from the left edge to the right.

I will try the JScreenFix thingy.

Actually no. Especially if you are using blur reduction and VT Tweaks. You'll find that "persistence" burn-in (which is never permanent) tends to be WORSE when using VT Tweaks, and when using blur reduction. Also the effect can be much lower at certain "Strobe Phase" settings for some reason, and less obvious at lower refresh rates. It's something only Chief can explain, but it's similar to how you may see 'scanlines' effect when using a VT 1500 tweak, or on some monitor samples at 144hz refresh rate. If there is a scanlines type pattern, persistence burn-in may be easier to happen because of it. I that on my XL2720Z because I kept leaving my browser window up while leaving the monitor on overnight, for months, with blur reduction on and VT 1500 tweak. Took about 2 weeks of jscreen fix deluxe running to get rid of it, and then turning the monitor off at night now keeps it away.

Yea, I'm using blur reduction and VT 1350, though I don't remember ever leaving the browser running for too long. Gonna see if jscreenfix helps. Thank you.

Okay, nothing seems to help.

JScreenFix - no difference (plus I never really leave something open for prolonged periods of time so it shouldn't be that).
Different cable - no difference.

My phone cam has a much easier time picking the line (as well as all the dirt) up than my actual eyes, but here's how it looks (using VT1500 tweak):

It's should still be under warranty, but since it's the non-Zowie version, it has a "bug" which makes the screen brighter using VT tweak, so I'd rather have the line and the brightness than none of it.

Are there other possible fixes?

Hi I have a 2730z and experienced the same thing. Did you find a solution ? Mine does not disappear on lower res. I can see it on the opening screen.

I haven't been able to resolve it. It's barely visible with blur reduction off at 144Hz so that's something, though when I overclock it to 180Hz, it's very apparent.

Thanks. I guess I will continue using it like this.

These aging-panel defects can get worse at higher refresh rates, overclocked vertical totals. While some of them are image retention related, many are not.

There are many situations:
- Aging panel pixel row situation, intermittent (thermal expansion, seasons, etc -- storage, cooldown or warmup may change it)
- Aging panel pixel row situation, permanent (at some Hz or at all Hz)
- Image retention situation (mainly if there's other evidence of burn-in too, but I've found this rare);

Aging panels may to develop this type of defect over time. Various attempted fixes may include panel-edge massage, cooldown (for a few days), warmup (24/7), playing active image continuously (like a full screen video with no black bars), displaying a solid color continuously, etc.
