Any website builder better for 120fps?

Post by Xx123456xX » 24 Aug 2017, 08:58

I am currently considering creating my own website for 120fps videos, and was wondering if any builder is better suited for this purpose than others.

There's been extremely little precedent for 120fps on the web, and we're among of the first websites in the world to feature 120fps videos within a web browser:

-- 120fps HFR Video In Real Time
-- World's First 1080p 120fps Embedded Video Game Recording

One problem is figuring out the bandwidth costs, or simply piggybacking on 60fps YouTube videos and then automatically forcing a x2 playback speed (it can be done -- see jsfiddle -- http://jsfiddle.net/jpreynat/e11oy0eu/ ...) to trick YouTube to do 120fps. That solves bandwidth costs via using half-speed 60fps videos and playing them back at 120fps automatically, though there might (unconfirmed?) be stutter differences versus native 120fps MP4 embeds.

Also, I've confirmed that 240fps HFR is possible on the web too, for 240Hz monitor visitors. Only possible in .MP4 embeds, though!

Blur Busters could help out in this HFR endeavour. If you are interested, contact me at mark[at]blurbusters.com ....

Is 120fps embedding possible with files other than MP4? I use MOV files. Although I can reencode them as MP4 via ffmpeg, this sometimes degrades the quality quite noticeably and often produces choppy playback.
