Why? New tech delayed means less money you'll spendDICKTracy wrote:This saddens me.

True, but some of us are just about to upgrade our ancient CGA or EGA adaptors, to push all the pixels necessary for our new 1.21 jigaHertz flux-capacitor powered gaming monitors, and gosh, darn it, some of us don't want to wait a year when our Mr. Fusion computer power supply has the wattage to run 8 of those in SLI, and the Delorean is undergoing its annual tune-up in the garage (so we can't go "Back To The Future", setting the time circuits to year 2015 to bring Maxwell back to today)*

Bought a 780ti not long ago. 600 euros for one GPU.
The more Maxwell gets delayed, the less I'll feel bad about spending that much money.

"jigaHertz" is bad but yes "gigaHertz".

Yes, that is the correct spelling of "giga".nuninho1980 wrote:"jigaHertz" is bad but yes "gigaHertz".
Alas, the first books for the movie, "Back To The Future", spelled the flux capacitor wattage as "1.21 jigawatt".
The closed captioning / subtitles were also spelled that way.
That spelling (error by script writer, probably) kind of prevailed to this date.
I thereby, remain true to the movie, by spelling it the way Doc Emmet Brown intended.

I recently moved to The Netherlands and I'm in the process of moving my stuff over. I saw this as an opportune time to sell off some of my dated hardware (HD6850) and my monitor (XL2411T) and get myself up to the bleeding edge (GTX880 + ROG SWIFT) and just game on my work laptop for the meantime (Macbook air ). I'm currently only playing cs:go and I'm getting 60hz+ with all the settings on low, but it's on a 13 inch screen so it's not the most enjoyable experience, so this was pretty frustrating!
But alas, my day in the sun will arrive eventually, gives me more time to get a new case and properly build my machine routing all the cables and cooling pipes neatly as I won't be in a giddy rush to build it and get it running! xD
