pg27aqdm screen flicker when shutting down computer&switch source from pc, at 1440@240hz@10bpc

High Hz on OLED produce excellent strobeless motion blur reduction with fast GtG pixel response. It is easier to tell apart 60Hz vs 120Hz vs 240Hz on OLED than LCD, and more visible to mainstream. Includes WOLED and QD-OLED displays.

will the performance of using 8 Bit + FRC on a native 10 Bit panel be better than that of a native 8 Bit panel?
8-bit + FRC can be virtually indistinguishable from native 10-bit outside of some test patterns even on an 8-bit panel, so it certainly shouldn't be worse on a 10-bit panel, but probably not notably better either, since the 10-bit panel will probably be running in 8-bit mode with FRC anyway.
I Updated the GPU driver to 545 today, and seems still exists. But was testing under a multi-monitor setup tho.

I would like to ask does this flicker will harm the monitor?

It only happen when shutting down, putting in sleep and switch source from pc.

It simply looks like a momentary no signal screen from your video, so I don't think it's harmful, but you can send the video to ASUS support and see what they have to say, if you haven't already.

1. Displays in DSC mode can introduce multi-monitor issues due to bandwidth limitations, etc.
2. Random black screen flicker is currently a known Nvidia driver issue:

Whether the above is contributing to your particular issues on your specific model is the question.

Have you tried setting the PG27AQDM to 240Hz 2560x1440 8-bit to rule out DSC? Because that should prevent DSC from kicking in. You can also check to see if your monitor OSD has an option to disable DSC.
Thank you, and btw Does it fix the DSC multi-monitor problem If my second monitor uses HDMI?

It would not fix multi-monitor issues. In fact, nothing will, short of not using a secondary and/or waiting for Windows to address it at the OS-level.

Windows users have been dealing with unresolved multi-monitor issues and limitations for years.

There's a potential development on that in the works, but who knows how long it will take to release in a public build, and even if it does, the question remains on whether it will truly fix anything:

Update: ASUS customer service has sent me the MCM104S firmware specially for this problem. After the update, this problem no longer occurs.
