Do LG OLED TVs use Temporal Dithering?

High Hz on OLED produce excellent strobeless motion blur reduction with fast GtG pixel response. It is easier to tell apart 60Hz vs 120Hz vs 240Hz on OLED than LCD, and more visible to mainstream. Includes WOLED and QD-OLED displays.

Do LG OLED TVs use Temporal Dithering?

Post by Clokwork » 16 Dec 2021, 23:26

I am moving to the point of near certainty that temporal dithering is the cause of my vertigo when l’m using certain panels/devices. I believe this is the reason I had to return my OLED and some of the more recent apple devices.

I only know the basics of Temporal dithering in that it changes colors over time to give the illusion of colors it cannot produce statically. Of the devices I listed above, I feel “off” even when looking at static images.

My question is, does anyone know if the LG CX OLED uses temporal dithering. I’ve already heard from unofficial sources that certain apple products are using it (not confirmed).
