240hz monitor - I cant use strobing (sensitive eyes)

Post by Fredcs2 » 03 Nov 2023, 05:52

Hey!

I'm going to retire my ancient XL2420T (144hz), and get a 240hz. Unfortunaly, im pretty sensitive to flicker, which why I got the BenQ, as they advertise as "flicker free". This means I wont be using any tech like DyAc, or anything similar. My question is then... Is it kinda worthless to get a BenQ XL2546K? I'm also colorblind, and my XL2420T's colors are pretty washed out. I would expect a newer monitor to improve such aswell?

Basically, I want the fastest "raw" (no DyAC etc) 240hz monitor. Recommendations?

Thanks!

I dont know how your color blindness affects your perception of color, but there are better 240hz options than TN. Like Fast IPS, G7's VA and, of course, OLED panels.

I play mostly CS, and I can often "loose" my crosshair, as in its too blended in, even when colored white, and outline. But I know older BenQ have pretty terrible colors, and this "washed" look. But yes, I use digital vibrance etc to make colors pop out more.

Are those faster IPS, G7, VA and OLED really faster tho? Rtings say the BenQ has less input lag then the famous Viewsonic? I dont know if this is with DyAC etc enabled. Like I mentioned, I will not use such features, as I get eyestrain rather quickly.
