For example if someone had "pg27aq" somewhere in their post, that text would be detected, and hovering over it would show some basic information, like this:
Manufacturer: Asus
Product Name: ROG Swift pg27aq
Resolution: 4k
Size: 27"
Panel type: IPS
Other: G-sync
Release date: unreleased
That way if someone types 'xl2420z', I don't have to google it to figure out which monitor they're talking about.
The hard part would be a database of all the different monitors, and saving a few minutes on google certainly isn't enough justification for that work, but if you were planning on making a display database anyway.....
Suggestion: hover info for display model numbers.

Excellent idea. I am going to work on this in the next little while.Sparky wrote:For example if someone had "pg27aq" somewhere in their post, that text would be detected, and hovering over it would show some basic information, like this:

I may require a little help, as resources are sometimes stretched thin. Are there phpbb plugins that can allow me such custom highlights that can be optionally disabled by users (so they don't get annoyed if they don't want them). Any HTML5/phpbb coderz who may be interested in assisting in creating such a popup? (I'll pay).
Cheers,
Mark Rejhon
