Have Asus XG27AQMR 300 hz

Ask about motion blur reduction in gaming monitors. Includes ULMB (Ultra Low Motion Blur), NVIDIA LightBoost, ASUS ELMB, BenQ/Zowie DyAc, Turbo240, ToastyX Strobelight, etc.

Have Asus XG27AQMR 300 hz

Post by liquidshadowfox » 28 Jun 2023, 21:37

Does anyone happen to know how to get into the service menu? The trick from the Asus XG27AQM doesn't seem to be working so there has to be another method to get in. The backlight strobing is better for ELMB sync vs the last implementation, the picture no longer looks fuzzy at higher refreshes like the previous iteration.

Does that monitor have same OSD issues like ELMB turning itself off constantly and wahtnot? I dunno what to do anymore. I was hoping the pg27aqn would be the ticket but the strobe phase is all out of whack at 360hz. I have zero hopes of getting asus to fix it and nvidia just tells me to go to asus. I think we're just gonna have to wait for Zowie to come out with a 360/500hz 1440p :(

I left the monitor with ELMB sync on and turned it off last night. It stayed with ELMB sync enabled so that might be fixed.

Dang so that's fixed at least! I am curious if the crosstalk is good too. I might end up selling my AQN. I guess aqmr it has displayport 1.4 because the aqn at 1.3a is hobbled by it. If Nvidia does not fix the strobe phase on the AQN, I am just going to give up on Asus and wait for Zowie 1440p monitors. Asus just seems like they don't give a crap at all

I have not figured out how to get into the service menu either. I occasionally have the issue where ELMB turns off (maybe every other week) but i notice it and turn it back on. If anyone figures out how to access the service menu please post.

Thanks

I would like to purchase the same monitor I have an old Samsung 1080p 144 VA panel, but I'm torn between it and the xl2566k because one of the biggest issues with my monitor is motion clarity is very bad and apparently from what I heard xl2566k is the best at this, however in my country it is almost the same price as the xg27aqmr and with it of course im getting an IPS with 1440p which is a much better deal in my opinion but can you share your thoughts on the motion clarity please do you think it wont be much different than the xl2566k? thank you :)

The XL2566k will give you miles better motion clarity than this monitor hands down. The XG27AQMR is for a more casual audience that want backlight strobing at the same time as Gsync for very minor improvements to clarity. If you want best in class motion clarity you go for the xl2566k or the asus PG27AQN. I own the asus XG27AQM, XG27AQMR AND the PG27AQN and I can tell you ULMB fixed looks MILES better than ELMB fixed or ELMB sync but I can appreciate the simplicity of ELMB sync being a "set it and forget it" while also giving you minor improvements to motion clarity for games you can hit high FPS on (because ELMB sync doesn't look too good at lower refreshes).

That is very helpful thank you I plan to get the xl266k since PG27AQN is 500$ more in my country, and i can use my current monitor for things besides gaming, and maybe when i can afford it i think i will get a 32 inch 4k (then i will be going in another rabbit hole 😂) for general use and single player games i think this way im getting the best of both worlds in a sense at a reasonable price the competitive 24 inch and the more immersive 32 inch, it sounds like a weird combination but i think it can work lol thanks again for the help :)
