Need 4K monitor with ULMB!!

Ask about motion blur reduction in gaming monitors. Includes ULMB (Ultra Low Motion Blur), NVIDIA LightBoost, ASUS ELMB, BenQ/Zowie DyAc, Turbo240, ToastyX Strobelight, etc.

Need 4K monitor with ULMB!!

Post by GitDat » 09 Sep 2014, 20:44

I can't believe they disabled ULMB on the new Acer XB280HK  I know it's 60Hz! Slap a warning label on it or something! lol

I will much more go cross-eyed with the blur-fest that is 60Hz than I will with strobing at 60Hz. Listen up future manufacturers if you're watching :)

I love seeing Bioshock Infinite running at 4K on my ASUS PB287Q when I STOP. Any movement and it looks like I'm swimming under water

Yeah, I agree. It should always be an option (it's a gsync monitor, they have it easy!). We don't know when 4k monitors will have more than 60Hz, so for now ULMB is a must have.

The main reason I bought my XL2411Z is because it has blur reduction at any refresh rate between 50 and 144 Hz. Skyrim's super high resolution textures (mods, of course) become a blurred mess without blur reduction. For now, I'm not interested in G-Sync until they fuse it with ULMB in the future.

I think G-Sync/ULMB do go hand in hand but they just disabled it on the Acer  I wonder if there's a way to hack it back on?

If, by 'fuse', you mean simultaneous variable refresh AND stobing, have a look at http://www.blurbusters.com/faq/creating ... blerefresh
However, it seems like this'll take a while to come to market, seeing how it's 'being offered to [vendors] for free'

Lol, I posted in this thread 7 months ago. I had already read that a long time ago, but lately my main interest is 3D Vision 2 and not G-Sync.

ULMB+G-Sync won't be possible any time soon, so I'd just prefer to be able to use ULMB at any refresh rate, just as I do with BenQ Blur Reduction (between 50 and 146Hz).
