Hello there =)
Im about to buy a lightboost supported monitor (http://www.blurbusters.com/zero-motion-blur/lightboost/) for my laptop.
Will use the display port as connection since my latop doesn't have a DVI-port.
I read that there are critical issues with nvidias optimus feature.
But what if you disable the nvidia optimus completely as shown here: http://forums.autodesk.com/t5/Hardware/ ... 283#M23682
Q: Any clue about that as a solution? Or might it work when I set the nvidia GPU as default and force every program to run with nvidias GPU? And will it work via display port/hdmi?
Thanks in advance for answering and that great project =)

Re: Is disabling Optimus a solution?
A lot of us have been struggling with Optimus for some time now, and even disabling Optimus didn't seem to always solve the problem. It's a huge gamble as to whether or not it works.Lithi wrote:But what if you disable the nvidia optimus completely as shown here: http://forums.autodesk.com/t5/Hardware/ ... 283#M23682
However, there's a monitor modification that definitely works: Hardware Modification of LightBoost Monitor. Another Optimus user said that this modification succeeded. However, they said they still needed to use a different computer to initially initialize the LightBoost, before LightBoost continued working with the Optimus laptop.
Currently, Optimus is a major barrier to LightBoost/GSYNC.

Thanks a lot for the quick reply but I don't like to harm the warranty of a brand new and expensive monitor. Nice guid though!
Looking forward for a fix/solution from nvidia or any other expert in the future
