PLEASE someone confirm : BenQ strobe @ 144 hz ?

Ask about motion blur reduction in gaming monitors. Includes ULMB (Ultra Low Motion Blur), NVIDIA LightBoost, ASUS ELMB, BenQ/Zowie DyAc, Turbo240, ToastyX Strobelight, etc.

If your question is whether Blur Reduction will work at 144hz on BenQ monitors that support Blur Reduction then the answer is yes.

Benq XL2411Z, 2420Z, 2430T, 2720Z will single strobe (if single strobe is enabled in the service menu) from 60hz to 144 hz in 1 hz increments (e.g custom refresh rates).

Benq XL2730Z freesync will only strobe at 120 and 144hz (at the moment); 60 and 100hz strobing are broken.

Ok THANK YOU .

Now i have one more question, ... Is it awesome ? Meaning, what's the trade off vs 120 hz strobing ?

The higher the refresh rate, the more the crosstalk.
For example, on the 24" monitors, Lightboost mode at 100hz and 120hz look pretty identical, but on the 27" screens, Lightboost at 120hz looks quite a bit worse than 100hz (not the smoothness, but the crosstalk).

Most people don't use blur reduction at 144hz. You can't use Vertical total (VT) tweaks to reduce the crosstalk at 144hz, and the crosstalk covers --half--the screen at 144hz.

the highest realistic refresh rate for blur reduction, WITH a vertical total tweak active (VT 1498-VT 1500 depending on panel) is 125hz. And even going from 120hz, with VT 1500, you can see a small increase in crosstalk at 125.

60hz (single strobe enabled) WITHOUT a vertical total tweak looks about the same as 100hz with a VT 1350 tweak. Because higher refresh rate=higher crosstalk (and a increase in vertical total helps lower the bottom side crosstalk).

Note: Default VT is 1125.

Another question, how can one tell what firmware version is installed ?

edit* Nevermind, it's version 4 ... Don't think the strobe utility is working with this version ? It says no compatible monitor detected

You need just to install driver via default windows update or from CD or may be somewhere at BenQ site.
