Lightboost for Linux

Ask about motion blur reduction in gaming monitors. Includes ULMB (Ultra Low Motion Blur), NVIDIA LightBoost, ASUS ELMB, BenQ/Zowie DyAc, Turbo240, ToastyX Strobelight, etc.

You can probably use the exact same guide they used to get the "Vertical total 1350/1500" tweak working for Benq Blur reduction monitors in Linux. Except instead you would put the lightboost timings, assuming the monitor already had lightboost UNLOCKED.

You can't UNLOCK lightboost in Linux, unless there are Nvidia 3d vision 2 drivers for it. Otherwise, that's impossible.
But for monitors that have ilghtboost already unlocked (either those that have it permanently unlocked, like some Acer monitors, or if you unlocked it on a PC already a different way (e.g. inf overdrives, strobelight, using an Nvidia laptop to unlock it, etc), you need a custom resolution with the lightboost vertical totals:
100hz: 1138 VT
110hz: 1143 VT
120hz: 1149 VT

These are for 1080p screens. Apparently some 1440p screens also have 3d vision 2 and the old lightboost modes still available, but the vertical totals to activate Lightboost on those are unknown (usually people use ULMB mode instead, which come with Gsync monitors, which is sort of a official sequel to lightboost).

60hz double strobed lightboost is possible but it will use the 120hz strobing, but the 120hz VT will not work.
However 120hz strobing is activated by any valid VT from 1149-1200, so you can try values starting at 1155, up to 1179.
But you will need to use the normal default timings for 120hz: front porch 48 pixels 3 lines, sync width 32 pixels 5 lines, horizontal total 2080 also.

ASUS VG248QE ----1080p using gtx970 video card

Thank you!

I'm running linux mint

Still seems a little complicated for me. I would like to use it in 120hz

"you need a custom resolution with the lightboost vertical totals:
