LightBoost hack broke my monitor?

Post by brekfastnook » 12 Apr 2016, 00:53

I used ToastX's CRU program for my acer GN246HL monitor, and after a few days of working it ruined my monitor and any help would be appreciated. There are yellow and grainy lines running horizontal across my screen towards the top, bottom, and middle. Also, whenever anything moves at all it is flickering VERY badly. (It is near impossible to read text if I move the window around on the monitor). I have tried turning LightBoost off, which didn't work, uninstalling/reinstalling drivers, using onboard graphics instead of my r9 390, tried 2 different dvi-d cables and 1 hdmi cable, and my 2nd monitor doesn't have this problem. I recorded 2 videos to show what I am talking about, one just on imgur and chrome and one while playing csgo (Mind my speakers and shitty phone quality, sorry.)

In the first video, you can sorta make out the yellowish lines through the top and mid, on the chrome home page. After, my problem is the horses legs flickering (on http://www.imgur.com/vidgif to compare)

In the 2nd video, it's a bit harder to tell, but the colors flicker off anything that moves in CS:GO.

Any help would be appreciated, I don't have a warranty to RMA and I can't afford the $200 for a new monitor.

that looks like the overdrive that broke, try changing the AMA settings in the monitor too see if the effect changes.

Also try running the reset-all in the CPU zip and restarting your pc.

There isn't an option to change the AMA settings in my monitor.

I have ran the reset-all in the CPU and I have restarted my PC multiple times.
