Acer Predator XB271HUbmiprz vs ASUS ROG Swift PG279Q

Ask about motion blur reduction in gaming monitors. Includes ULMB (Ultra Low Motion Blur), NVIDIA LightBoost, ASUS ELMB, BenQ/Zowie DyAc, Turbo240, ToastyX Strobelight, etc.

Acer Predator XB271HUbmiprz vs ASUS ROG Swift PG279Q

I can read specs, and they're similar, but I'm unable to find out if the XB271HUbmiprz has blur reduction.

Also: does ULMB matter at all if I can't reach 165 FPS?

From you previous posts you said you wanna less blur.
If you want less blur take TN 144Hz.
ULMB works on only if 85, 100, 120Hz is used.

Thanks :)

No ULMB @ 144/165 Hz? (Just verifying, since it's been said that blur reduction works better the higher the Hz, and 144 Hz monitors are advertised as having blur reduction.)

I've had separate confirmation that blur reduction works even when FPS < Hz.

No ULMB @ 144/165 Hz.
You used term "blur reduction". If you newcomer may be you didn't know that there are several blur reduction technologies:
- LightBoost (old one)
- ULMB
- BenQ Blur Reduction (BBR)
- Turbo 240 (by EIZO)
- Motion 240 (by LG)
...
And some if them works 144Hz. For example popular BBR works worse at 144Hz introducing crosstalk. Don't know where you got "it's been said that blur reduction works better the higher the Hz".

Thx, yes, I've done my homework :) I know there are new 240Hz monitors coming, but I'm not sure I want to wait until Jan/Feb/March/April next year. Also, those will probably be out of my budget if they are brand new, hot products.

In my intense research stint this weekend I've managed to filtered out perhaps 10 monitors that fulfil my criteria. All of them are either BenQ or have ULMB, although I did look at others like the Eizo.

On all BenQ monitors apart from the 2720Z, blur reduction is unavailable at 85 Hz. Is that correct?
