If it's someone's profile calibrated specifically for their monitor, it won't help yours anyway. In fact, it will more than likely make it worse. Even if you own the same monitor model as someone else, each panel is physically different. The offsets that are adjusted by the profile to properly calibrated his monitor are going have completely different starting points on yours.

If you don't have your own calibration device, you're better off using the brightness and contrast settings he posted and leaving your color profile at the default.
