Acer XB270HA 27" 1080p 144hz

Talk about NVIDIA G-SYNC, a variable refresh rate (VRR) technology. G-SYNC eliminates stutters, tearing, and reduces input lag. List of G-SYNC Monitors.

What are your settings on the actual monitor?
In the nvidia-controlpanel I have it on "Other programs run the color-setting" and about 65% digital vibrance because otherwise the colors are extremely washed out.
On the actual monitor:
Profile: "Standard" (If i have it on "User" it reverts to standard all the time)
Overdrive: "Normal"
Brightness:77
Contrast:50
Gamma:2.2
Colortemp: Warm(Get a pretty bad blue tint otherwise). Would like to have sRGB. Have never run a monitor on "Warm" before.

Downloaded the monitordriver and colorprofiles from the Acer supportsite.
Also it goes into some full-screen colorblinking after like 5 min as some sort of screensaver.

Edit:
Standard setting always puts the "Brightness" at 100%. So trying to keep it in user mode.

How is 27 inch at 1080P? looking around the internet there are a lot of mixed feelings! now if Acer was to make a 24 inch version of this monitor I would buy it, but 1080p at 27 inches i am not very keen :(

Sit further away from the monitor... Problem solved.

I personally own this monitor, I got it the day it was released. I love it, I sit at a healthy distance and don't have any issues with it. I have a 109ppi 23inch Dell IPS right next to it and I find myself prioritizing my ACER over my Dell for even movies.

Is it a true 8 bit panel or 6 bit+FRC

1080p is totally fine on a 27" for gaming I think.
I think you need to think of this like a 300 euro gaming monitor with 200 euro worth of G-sync tacked on to it.
The Asus PG278Q to me looks like it has a better panel but also costs a lot more and also you need better hardware to drive it due to the higher resolution.
Having used it now for a week I have to say I am pretty pleased with it's performance in games, the high refreshrate and g-sync is really nice. However for desktop use there are better things.

I don't see documentation from Acer stating the monitor is either or, but from what I can see - I would say this is an 8 bit panel. I've owned 6 bit+FRC monitors before and the color reproduction on this Acer panel is FAR better than any 6 bit+FRC I've seen.

Can you see any dithering when looking at dark areas very closely ? Dark areas such as in this test: http://www.lagom.nl/lcd-test/black.php

Well yes, that website says 8 bit, that's where everyone else got the information. But I've never seen Acer mention it was 8 bit.

I have this Monitor now and I am pleased with it. Before this one I tried the Asus VG248QE and the Benq XL2420Z which I sent back. The Acer I am sure is an 8 bit panel as the picture is fantastic, far exceeding the Asus and Benq. 1080p at 27 inch is fine also.
All in all cracking monitor :)
