I just got the XB240H used for $250 a couple days ago, and im very happy with it. I have it on my desk next to my vg278h and ive been doing a lot of gsync vs lightboost vs ulmb comparisons. Ill probably only use the 144hz gsync mode and not use ulmb, then sell my vg278h and get like a ips to watch tv and movies on. Because my gsync monitor only has 1 display port input. I really liked that the vg278h had dvi and hdmi input so i could use it as a TV too.

Hi Guys,

I am planning to buy 3 of those monitors to play in surround GSYNC.

I play mainly in sim racing games and a bit in FPS. I plan to buy a GTX970 with 3 display ports.

I would like to know if its worth to pay the extra money for the Gsync and the 144hz because I am buying 3 of them the price difference is quite big. I can get 3 of those for 1250euros et I can have normal 1080p screend 60hz 1ms for 700euros...

Also do you think a single 970 is enough (if I overclocked it ?) Thinking about buying another one in the future or should I go for the 980. I think personnalise the 980 is not worth the price...I guess with Gsync a single 970 is enough ?

Last question, are the bezels not too thick for a triple monitors setup?

Thank you very much for the help :-)

This makes this monitor look almost exactly like my ips monitor.
Also I should note that "Unparking CPU cores" and "disabling Hyper Threading" solved my microstutter problem for gsync (these are game related though).
I hope this helps
Hi Guys, I finally bought the screen and I am quite new in terms of settings...

What settings does an ICC profil change? What settings do you use in the OSD menu and the nVidia control panel?

Thank you for the help...

ICC profile changes colour in the OS and should be installed. Only use the OSD colour controls and don't touch the Nvidia ones.

Thank you for the answer!

For the Gsync, I just need to enable it in the Nvidia settings and then go to the Vsync line and choose "replaced by Gsync"

But then in the game settings, do I need to put Vsync on to enable Gsync? Or whatever I do Gsync will be working?

Thank you very much!

Just enable it in Nvidia and just play your game with vsync off. you don't need to "replaced by Gsync" because it figures that out for you. your games will cap out just under 144hz so gsync will be in effect. But if your game has problems you should cap it yourself, like in source engine using fps_max 135 or even using a program like rivatuner to do the capping for you.

Hey guys was wondering will the color settings and previously linked ICC profile work with a XB240HA? Is the only difference between the XB240HA & XB270HA is that one is 24 inches and the other is 27?

Different monitors, with different panels. I doubt that they would be the same.

Why don't you use the ICC profile that Acer has made available for this monitor ?
Go to:
http://us.acer.com/ac/en/US/content/drivers

Search for drivers for XB240H. Not XB240HA, because you won't find anything with that name. (Not on the Acer website, but also not googling anywhere else).
Download the XB240H drivers.
It's a zipfile. It has 2 files in it:
Acer XB240H.inf
Acer XB240H.icm

Ignore the inf file. That's a real driver. Maybe you can install it, maybe it requires a lot of work (Acer doesn't always sign their drivers. And then Windows refuses to install it). It's not worth it, probably.
The icm file is what you want. ICM is the same as ICC. (Windows name versus Apple name, I believe).
You can just rename the ICM file to "Acer XB240H.icc" if you want. Doesn't matter. Windows will accept the file both with icm or icc extension.

Good luck.
I hope you'll like the profile.
