Will the input lag issue @144hz ever be fixed?

Talk about NVIDIA G-SYNC, a variable refresh rate (VRR) technology. G-SYNC eliminates stutters, tearing, and reduces input lag. List of G-SYNC Monitors.

Lol? Lag? Care to elaborate? I own a G-Sync 144Hz VG248QE monitor, but with no lag @144Hz.

He means what was discovered in this test. http://www.blurbusters.com/gsync/preview2/
Scroll down and examine the graphs and stuff.

I dont know if it will be fixed or whether it can be fixed.
But what i am sure of is that nvidia could fix it easily by implementing a setting in control panel that for gsync monitors has by default an fps cap below the max refresh enough to remove the input lag.

Asus is marketing their G-sync monitors as 144hz 2d and 120hz 3d. The test showed no additional input lag at 120hz but a small amount of increased imput lag at 144hz.

As long as your caping your FPS at 120hz in 3d applications you shouldn't experience any additional input lag (from my understanding).

no but it can be improved by one frame at 144hz.

currently 144hz gsync has 2 more frames of lag than capped 140/130/120/whatever gsync

You could always just change the refresh rate to something a tad lower than 144. It won't hurt, I promise.
