Since I finally got around to taking some pictures, maybe I can find out if somebody else has noticed this as well. This happens in every game I have tested if framerate < max refresh rate. The tearline is very visible in the upper left corner of the screen in this picture (click for full size.)

I personally havent noticed it, but most my games are very competitive. I'll fire up Bioshock right now and see what I get.

Thanks for the pic. System specs?
What games have you tested it on?

Core i5-4670k @4GHz
GTX 760 w/ driver 331.82
I have seen the tear in Bioshock Infinite, Far Cry 3, Counter Strike: Global Offensive (with frame limit lowered manually,) Saints Row 4...any game I've tested that doesn't stay frame capped. It occurs both at 120 Hz and 144 Hz and never moves. It also seems like it lags behind significantly more than one frame which is a bit odd.
Re: Consistent tearline at top of screen with G-sync [bug?]
I've been interested in getting G-Sync since it was announced, but this permanent tearline at the top phenomenon concerns me.
Re: Consistent tearline at top of screen with G-sync [bug?]
So far I seem to be the only one who has experienced it. It could be a minor timing problem with my specific G-sync kit or a driver bug that only affects the GTX 760. I'd like to contact nVidia about it but I need more people to test to see if it's more than just me.bbguy321 wrote:I've been interested in getting G-Sync since it was announced, but this permanent tearline at the top phenomenon concerns me.

Considering I'm just waiting for the maxwell GPUs to launch before I pull the trigger on buying myself a 760 and a gsync kit, I'm also very interested in this as well.nimbulan wrote:It could be a minor timing problem with my specific G-sync kit or a driver bug that only affects the GTX 760. It may not make a difference, but for the record; who is the manufacturer of your 760?

I have an MSI GTX 760 Gaming but like you said, it shouldn't make a difference.Dustmuffins wrote:It may not make a difference, but for the record; who is the manufacturer of your 760?

I have tried to reproduce this on my driver 331.93, but I can't see it on my monitor.
Maybe it's a problem specific to 331.82?
Can you do a DirectX diagnostics, as well as your NVIDIA driver information -- and paste all the information?
Also, what happens if you upgrade to 331.93 drivers, or to WHQL 332.21 drivers?

No change with 332.21. I did not realize there was a newer driver available. Apparently GeForce Experience didn't tell me about the new driver because it had previously notified me about a beta driver that I never installed.
