Acer XB240H G-Sync Worth It?

Talk about NVIDIA G-SYNC, a variable refresh rate (VRR) technology. G-SYNC eliminates stutters, tearing, and reduces input lag. List of G-SYNC Monitors.

Acer XB240H G-Sync Worth It?

Post by Niuqorram » 01 Dec 2015, 17:53

I want to buy a new gaming monitor, and want to go all out with specs without breaking the bank.

I settled on:
The Acer XB240H G-Sync, for its cheap price for a monitor with G-Sync and ULMB.
The LG 24GM77, for its apparently amazing color reproduction and features for only around $250.
The BenQ XL2430T or XL2411Z, for their Blur Reduction V2 which works WITH 144Hz unlike ULMB and Clear Motion 240 (XB240H and 24GM77)

All of these cost roughly around the same, so it's a no-brainer to get the XB240H, right?

I just feel that the screen quality of the XB240H is poor, as mostly every review I've read about it on Amazon and Newegg are complaints about its dead pixels, screen bleed, and overall quality. Is it that bad? I mean if I get huge bleed or any dead pixels of course I'll exchange it but still, might as well avoid the problem, right?

Is the Acer XB240H worth it? Or should I just save up for something better or settle with a cheaper non G-Sync monitor?
My main game is CS:GO, but I play plenty of other games, as well.

Here is my example of the XB240H gsync. Speaks for itself:
