Acer Predator Z35 G-SYNC Monitor (Problem Solved)

Post by VASilverado » 29 Dec 2015, 19:15

I've searched the forums for the issue to no avail, so I thought I would give posting a try to see if any of the local experts could give me some suggestions on resolving my problem

My problem is for whatever reason when i use G-Sync in sli mode in BF4 ,the computer locks up and i have to turn the power off to restart the computer. When running with a single GPU I have no issues and the monitor runs beautifully as expected. I've tried capping the FPS when in sli to 135FPS, as others have suggested but this doesn't seem to fix the crash issue. I used DDU and did a fresh install of the drivers but this was no help either

My systems spec are:
Asus Sabertooth Motherboard
Intel I7 3770 Stable OC to 4.3GHZ
16GB DDR 3 Ram
Two Asus Strix GTX 980 video cards
256 GB solid state drive
Acer Predator Z35 monitor
video driver 361.43

Thanks in advance.... 8-)

Forgot to add I'm running Windows 10 64 bit. Next attempt to fix the issue reinstall win 10. I'll report back my findings

So far I've tried the following with no success:
Reinstalled win 10
NVCP Debug Mode
Gsync mode windowed and full screen

Running out of things to try, someone help please!

Sorry man i don't think anyone can really help you, SLI is just buggy with Gsync. maybe you can send a email to the BF4 devs but who knows if they can even fix it.

Thanks for the reply, hopefully someone will fix it. I tried updating my video card bios with no luck still crashed in SLI but on a positive not it seems to run smoother when it is working.

I never once got GSync to work in SLI mode. I gave away me other GTX670 and went to a single card to avoid Gsync and SLI issues.

When I upgraded, I had a chance to get 2x GTX 770's for real cheap, and instead saved more and bought a single GTX 780Ti SC edition to avoid any more SLI issues.

Single cards have less bugs anyways. Gsync is just one more reason to stay single card.

I hear ya, SLI defiantly has its issues. I do have something good to report I believe I have found the smoking gun. I tried everything in the book and finally got to the point where I was going to pull the video cards and re-seat them and I notice the video cards have two locations where you can install the bridge between the cards, so I thought why not give it a try and what do you know problems solved, it now runs butter smooth in SLI with G-sync enabled. This may be a card specific thing, I'm not sure but most certainly was the problem.
