Glad you worked it out, but it's of course no long-term solution. 378.92 is a recent enough driver to be useful right now, but as time goes on, it will become more and more outdated.
You might want to tell the driver team about it:

If enough people with this issue give feedback there, NVidia might actually pick up the pace and fix this sooner rather than later.
