Question about KSF panels for mark

Post by elexor » 03 Apr 2022, 00:30

Just wondering how ksf is applied to those panels do they just have special leds or does the lcd panel itself have a coating?

If it's just special led's could they be replaced by standard wleds?

The current assumption is that it's the LED coatings, and replacing with standard WLEDs will solve the problem. However, someone needs to do some more tests to confirm this. It is possible for color filters in a LCD panel to have phosphor behaviours (to help enhance color gamut).

The artifacts of www.testufo.com/scanskew shows that during strobed operation, seems to confirm that it's a LED-originated behavior.
- There's no scanskew on the primary strobe
- There's scanskew in the KSF afterglow

It helps if you're familiar with www.testufo.com/scanskew on 60Hz-only panels (even an iPad or DELL laptop will do), as well as the fact not all pixels refresh at the same time -- www.blurbusters.com/scanout has several great high speed videos.
