I'm so happy to hear that its at least capable of the 50" big brother's specs though.
I recently read that Sony is flashing a firmware fix for their 4K TVs to enable HDMI 2.0. No hardware changes needed, HDMI 1.4 connector & cable friendly.
Anyone know if this is going to be possible with the 39"/50"/65" Seiki panels? I spoke to one of their reps about their plans for 4K displayport or hdmi 2.0 early last year and got the cold shoulder. I chalked it up to the 2.0 standard not yet being agreed upon at the time and left it alone. Early opinion was HDMI 2.0 was going to be a hardware change, quite surprising that its not. Which makes you wonder why they (HDMI standards) wouldn't untap 18Gbps & 32 uncompressed audio channels right from the start of the HDMI standard, or at the very least at the same time as the 1.4 spec update?

- "HDMI 2.0 does not define new cables or new connectors. Current High Speed cables (Category 2 cables) are capable of carrying the increased bandwidth."
Either way I'm actually hoping this takes off
http://www.hdbaset.org/technology, I like the idea of the whole "One cable to rule them all" approach.
Anyway if/when this HDMI 2.0 firmware fix gets confirmed for Seiki, we're considering going with three 39"s (rather than a single 50") for a desktop play/work station setup later this year. I mean, how breath taking would 11520x2160@60hz+ be for RTS and non-fps dependent games? Not to mention 5760x1080@120hz or possibly 7680x1440@100hz for all the action oriented games?
