Remove OS X 10.5 pixel clock limit

Talk about overclocking displays at a higher refresh rate. This includes homebrew, 165Hz, QNIX, Catleap, Overlord Tempest, SEIKI displays, certain HDTVs, and other overclockable displays.

Remove OS X 10.5 pixel clock limit

Post by rabidz7 » 06 Oct 2014, 10:22

Who should I contact to get a patch written for OS X 10.5 that allows the pixel clock to exceed 165MHz? Can anyone on this forum do it? I am trying to overclock my PowerBook's LCD, but the pixel clock is locked to 165MHz, so I can't go past 85Hz. I can pay up to $600 through PayPal or Bitcoin.

Do you have some specs that show that the GPU and LCD panel in that model is capable of a higher rate? Also, what model is it? I've set up custom resolutions on my old PPC iBook in the past, though for an external monitor.

The screen was able to hit 85Hz without any issue. Refresh rates above that are blocked due to the driver limit.
