Talk about overclocking displays at a higher refresh rate. This includes homebrew, 165Hz, QNIX, Catleap, Overlord Tempest, SEIKI displays, certain HDTVs, and other overclockable displays.

benq xl2411z overclock

Post by urut » 24 Nov 2014, 12:49

Hi. Im gonna to overclock my xl2411z screen. In other forum i've got a reply :

"1024x768 doesn't matter, they are all downsampled 1920x1080 resolutions anyway.
144hz isn't even directly supported at normal timings. 144 hz requires reduced timings, so 150hz: no way. 144hz won't work with standard timings. Highest possible with standard timings is ~128-130, afaik.

Someone managed 146 hz with reduced timings.

If you're trying to get less motion blur, you should be using blur reduction anyway."

Ok, then i gonna overclock to 129 hz at nvidia control panel.
When i do 1024x768 @ 129hz in OSD i've got "1024x768 @ 120hz" @ std timings. (I creating resolution in nvidia control panel).

But when i create 1024x768 @ 129hz at CVT REDUCED BLANK, in OSD i've got "1024x768 @ 100hz"

This is OSD bug or that overclock don't work?

Waiting for reply guys ! :).

OSD bug (it happens when you use different timings than what the monitor expects). If the image is stable (no out of range erros, cable errors, weird things, etc) it's OK.
CPU: Intel Core i7 7700K @ 4.9GHz
GPU: Gainward Phoenix 1080 GLH
RAM: GSkill Ripjaws Z 3866MHz CL19
Motherboard: Gigabyte Gaming M5 Z270
Monitor: Asus PG278QR

Thanks for fast reply Masterotaku!

And 1 more "evidence" that prove that is OSD bug :

I've got MBR at CustomKey1 (menu, and first buttom from left) when i launch game (cs:go, in launch options -freq 129 -refresh 129) i've got in OSD 1024x768 @ 100hz. But when i wanna turn on MBR (i've got V1 firmware, idk why i put this on but nvm) I've got a BLACK SCREEN, when i off this screen going 2 normal.

That happends only when i use 1024x768 @ 129hz ;P

Okey, that's all. Thank you dude for fast reply once again. Admin can close topic :D.
