Overclocking HDMI cable

Talk about overclocking displays at a higher refresh rate. This includes homebrew, 165Hz, QNIX, Catleap, Overlord Tempest, SEIKI displays, certain HDTVs, and other overclockable displays.

Overclocking HDMI cable

Post by gramps » 17 Mar 2015, 14:41

Hi guys

i am trying to overclock my Sony KDL 46HX753 Bravia 3d TV using toastyX software. i have managed to make a 1920 by 1080 65hz 70hz 75hz. i cant make a 120hz. when i do and reboot it is not visible in the list of monitor refresh rates. i have also made a 1280 by 720 at 120hz that i can see. i have tried all the above and it is always the same from my Sony TV, (i have tried all 4 hdmi sockets on the tv)"unsupported signal. check your device output". my question is - i have a really cheap hdmi cable that is definitely not 4k or 3d ready, will that have a direct effect on overclocking?
