Early Asus VG248QE 144Hz 1ms overclockable?

Talk about overclocking displays at a higher refresh rate. This includes homebrew, 165Hz, QNIX, Catleap, Overlord Tempest, SEIKI displays, certain HDTVs, and other overclockable displays.

I've got an early VG248QE, are they known to overclock at all? Do they break if you overclock them?

Just seen they max out at 150Hz

The VG248QE will not accept anything higher than 150 Hz, and it can't handle that properly at the native resolution.

It's possible to get 150 Hz at 1280x720 and 1600x900 with these timing parameters:

H: 1280 24 32 24 80 1360
V: 720 3 5 5 13 733

H: 1600 24 32 24 80 1680
V: 900 3 5 5 13 913

You might be able to go higher if you lower the vertical total or horizontal total some more.

But who knows, every monitor is different.

Mine goes to 145hz at 1080p. At 146 I see visual distortion and at 147 I get HEAVY visual distortion.
