AOC E2070 SWN OC Help [desktop scaling]

Talk about overclocking displays at a higher refresh rate. This includes homebrew, 165Hz, QNIX, Catleap, Overlord Tempest, SEIKI displays, certain HDTVs, and other overclockable displays.

AOC E2070 SWN OC Help [desktop scaling]

Post by solenz » 06 Apr 2014, 17:46

I used the CRU utility to change the refresh rate and at 75 it works great. But the desktop resolution downscales. My monitor's original resolution is 1600x900. I set the CRU resoltion to 1600x900 @75hz but when I apply it in Windows Resolution settings the desktop res downscales. But, in games it keeps the 1600x900 resolution.

What happens when you go to Control Panel -> Display -> Adjust Resolution ?

Same thing happens. The games keep the 1600x900 resolution @75hz but the Windows Desktop itself is fuzzy and somewhere like 1280x1024. To compare the fuzziness of the Desktop with something, I would say that it is like when you fresh install Windows using a USB key or CD. That kind of fuzziness that comes from using a low resolution on a hi-res monitor.
