Price seems 600 bucks! Not bad

Hmm the amazon links to 360hz. 600 bucks might be a mistake. If u put the monitor in the basket it's the xl2566k also. So yeah 600 bucks must be a mistake..

Re: New Zowie Monitor 540Hz XL2586X
I've never had any issue and I'm a fairly above average competitive FPS player. I can't differentiate the individual pixels of my monitor. I like the larger screen.
Until we get 1440p with these kinds of Speeds/Response times I don't plan on going past this. Even then I'd get a 27" or larger, because I like large screens.

Bit surprised at no g-sync module on a 540hz panel, even though Zowie never used them in the past on their TNs
Interested to see:
- What is the strobing range?
Asus 540hz only strobes at 360hz or higher
- Is DSC active at 540hz?
The representative was ambiguous on the matter

DCS should not be active cause the monitor has HDMI 2.1 outputs.NDUS wrote: ↑18 Dec 2023, 07:43Bit surprised at no g-sync module on a 540hz panel, even though Zowie never used them in the past on their TNs

i heard Zowie is testing custom resolutions right now on 540hz. Nvidia drivers are buggy on this part. Has nothing to to do with DCS, I expect more info on this, this week.

Re: New Zowie Monitor 540Hz XL2586X
The XL2586X will be limited to around 400 Hz via Displayport right?
Because XL2586X has Displayport 1.4 and HDMI 2.1
According to the info here:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DisplayPort
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HDMI
.... The 8 bit limits are 406 Hz for DP 1.4 and 591 Hz for HDMI 2.1

Re: New Zowie Monitor 540Hz XL2586X
The 540hz Asus pg248qp has DP 1.4 and has 540hz. It uses DCS compression to get that high. maybe the XL2586X can use DCS for DP1.4.where its not needed for HDMI 2.1reniak wrote: ↑19 Dec 2023, 21:59The XL2586X will be limited to around 400 Hz via Displayport right?

Re: New Zowie Monitor 540Hz XL2586X
To shush the spec parrots...
...These are arbitrary limits to a boilerplate VESA signal that can vary with settings (DSC, 4:2:2, 4:2:0, 6bit vs 8bit vs 10bit, Reduced Porches / Sync, etc). You can usually cram about 2-3x as much Hz with some optimal settings.
The question is what techniques/settings BenQ Zowie uses to get the max Hz working.

First review is out (optimum on youtube):

I guess it comes down to pricing.

Re: New Zowie Monitor 540Hz XL2586X
Optimum compares the nits of the Zowie with DYAC2 on vs The ASUS with ULMB2 off. Kinda useless comparison. Cant pull the trigger now. Hes always sloppy when it comes to brightness. If the Zowie is darker with DYAC2 on then the ASUS with ULMB2 on I am not gonna get it.
EDIT HE DOES COMPARE IT! The info is in the screenshot! The Zowie is Brighter with DYAC2 on (374nits) then the ASUS with ULMB2 on (347) ! I dont get why he emphasize that the ASUS is brighter. Its not. Only with ULMB2 off.
To bad also he does not adress the lack of a 12 BPC color option on the Zowie. Maybe it does have this option?
He also says the Asus on Overdrive and Normal is faster then then the Zowie. But the Asus cannot be turned on to normal and overdrive with ULMB2 on. Maybe the ASUS with ULMB2 on is the normal setting?
