Is G-Sync worth it on a gaming laptop?

Post by Ravedous » 25 Jun 2016, 08:16

Hello! This is my first time posting on these forums so please excuse me for any mistakes. I already have a gaming desktop without a g-sync monitor at 144hz, and I want to buy a gaming laptop for when I'm on the go. I wanted Sager/Clevo gaming laptops because you can customize them. But I can't decide whether or not G-Sync is worth an extra $80 on the laptop. I play games like CS:GO, BF4 and Overwatch currently and will I benefit from G-Sync on a competitive level? Thanks!

Is eliminating tearing worth $80 to you? If not, get the cheaper laptop and use vsync off.

If it is, get the g-sync laptop and cap framerate inside the VRR window.
