Presenting the ZOWIE XL2540 240Hz
Re: Presenting the ZOWIE XL2540 240Hz
Hi knypol, the amount of motion blur would be closer to 1/144 than 1/240 in that scenario.

Re: Presenting the ZOWIE XL2540 240Hz
Motion blur is the result of frame persistence. 144FPS means 6.9ms persistence, rounded to match the nearest scanout of 240Hz (which has 4.1ms persistence.) This will vary per frame (for some frames you'll get 4.1ms for others 8.3ms,) since 240Hz is not a multiple of 144.
Perceived motion blur in that case is worse than 144Hz because of the variance in frame persistence. It's like 100FPS on 144Hz vs 100FPS on 100Hz. 100Hz will look cleaner.

Yes. RealNC is right, it will effectively be even worse than 1/144 because of the constant variation. You will also get part of the image having less or more motion blur if vsync off.
It becomes complex at this point to explain but the moral of the story is that if you want the least amount of motion blur, you will need 240fps at 240hz and get 4.1ms of persistence that way. (1000 milliseconds divided by 240)

Thx 4 answers. So basically 240Hz is only for CS, Quake cause its nearly impossible to have stable 240 fps in top graphic games like BF1.

Re: Presenting the ZOWIE XL2540 240Hz
G-Sync 240hz are coming out soon, so if you get any higher fps then 144 which is not very hard if you are using a graphics card in the GTX1070 range or play on low like me (because apparently i'm crazy) you will still be getting a benefit!
frankly i can't wait
Edit: you get 200fps avg with top tier cards on medium!

Re: Presenting the ZOWIE XL2540 240Hz
Today i've received this monitor, and cheking the options i've seen this
http://i.imgur.com/aIgfFRq.jpg
I have an AMD 290 and the freesync is disabled in the drivers so, i dont know why is showing "ON" in the display information and also the current refresh rate is missing somehow. I'm coming from a 2411T 144hz and I notice kind of higher input lag on the Xl2540 maybe it's caused by the freesync always "ON" in the monitor no matter it's enabled or disabled in the AMD drivers.
But...searching in the service menu i've found this...

Yes, blur reduction. In the normal menu settings does not appear any blur reduction toggle but as you can see in the service menu it does.
Lets try something... http://i.imgur.com/oFNcqOZ.jpg
The screen went black and a "plug" sound came, then the screen went back alive and it behaves way different (lightboost-blur reduction) and take a look at the same info than before.

Now as you can see, freesync info is gone and now it show the current refresh rate.
Btw:sorry for my poor english, I tried my best hahaha.

Re: Presenting the ZOWIE XL2540 240Hz
Wait so this monitor does support blur reduction and benq does not allow you to toggle it in the standard menu. Does it look good or does it have artifacts or something. I don't understand they would not allow you to toggle something like this. How did you even get in the service menu btw? Some button combination?
Re: Presenting the ZOWIE XL2540 240Hz
fuck...it works! blur reduction mode at 240hz photos coming soon.
Re: Presenting the ZOWIE XL2540 240Hz
Wow!
I unfortunately can't stand the flickering of ULMB at 120hz even though I absolutely love how it makes scrolling text and pictures readable.
Blur reduction at 240hz would be perfect for me.
I hope the cross-talk is not too bad. Fingers crossed.

GUYS
CAN YOU PLEASE CHECK TO SEE IF THE MONITOR "DOUBLE STROBES" AT 60HZ or if it SINGLE STROBES?
use this page.

A double strobe will have TWO copies of each UFO, very ugly. Like you're on drugs.
Single strobe will have 1 copy but will flicker pretty badly.
