https://m.newegg.com/products/N82E16824025521, anybody consider buying the updated model? It hasn't reached my country yet. I hope they have fixed the double strobbing

Interesting successor to the 24GM77.

Anyone want to take a risk on this monitor?
Anyone want to see if it can SINGLE STROBE at 60hz refresh rate?

Double strobes at 60hz. You would think given that the 24GM77 doesn't even have the option to strobe at 60hz at all they would put some thought into introducing the option to 60hz in the new monitor... but no.

I don't think they want to risk the chance of causing seisures, possibly?

Well, given that that the blur reduction at 60hz honestly looks worse than with it off, they probably shouldn't have bothered implementing it at 60hz at all if this was the only option they deemed acceptable.

For almost a century, people have been watching TV at 60Hz (NTSC) and 50Hz (PAL) on flickering CRTs. I don't remember any seizure issues with 50Hz flicker.

There were certainly people who could not watch much TV because they could not tolerate flicker, or got lots of headaches.

Also, FOV of watching TV was extremely small in the days of pre-100Hz TV days. Watching a 25" TV from 12 feet away is nothing like watching a 27" monitor from 2 feet away -- it covers almost a hundred times more field of vision. This can really amplify low-frequency flicker concerns. CRTs were never manufactured in the sizes that we now commonly get for TVs.

Yep. Like Chief said.

Not to mention that at equal frequency, LCD backlight strobbing flicker is harsher to the eye than CRT flicker.

I'm glad I don't have to subject myself to 50Hz flicker nowadays. I hated it. Even on a tiny TV, it was very harsh to me.

I'm lucky not to get headaches from flickering. But I do see flicker consciously very easily. And it does strain my eyes.
