Re: Games feel and look choppy

Did it work?

Hey, so I tried it, didn’t seem to change anything at all.

I’ve reinstalled windows and game felt amazing on day one, but it went back to being garbo pretty quick. Feels like I’m dropping frames a lot? Variance according to the net graph is the same capped at 300 FPS and at ...

Games feel and look choppy

Hello there!

For a while now my games look and feel slightly choppy, it’s hard to describe but it’s kind of the same feeling of going back from 144hz to 60hz. It just feels wrong.

Usually I’m only playing CSGO, so I figured it’s just some sort of spaghetti code issue with that game and it’s been ...

Re: Gaming performance deteriorates more and more

Update: installed the old mobo and cpu. (6700k, Z170A Gaming M7), applied my standard OC, loaded xmp and look at this. Everything feels normal again, apart from the (probably network related) rubberbanding-ish animations.

I'll have to run this again for a while to see if it's a permanent solution ...

The best thing to do is record gameplay and also have Afterburner overlay with frametime/cpu/gpu/power etc.
I'll test with the afterburner overlay when I'm home again. Maybe I'll try reinstalling windows again too. Hopefully it helps in some way

Re: Gaming performance deteriorates more and more

...

I play csgo only and I still get unsmooth gameplay offline with bots, even when ethernet is disconnected. It's just the animation-stuttering (wich is definetly cause by ping spikes) that disappear.

It's so hard to describe since it's just "feels" wrong. I can get good results on aiming ...

How are you connected to the router?
Ethernet cable. It's a pretty old one and I have a new one(cat7, double shielded) lying around wich has to be terminated still. It's routed through the floor into the basement with no proximity to any power cables.

Re: Gaming performance deteriorates more and more

Ping spikes on ethernet to your home router? This is weird.
I never get anything over 1ms to my router through ethernet. Even to first hop (ISP) it is mostly under 1ms (fiber).
Spike like 1->10ms on ethernet without any load seems strange.

Yeah that's what I thought aswell. Apparently small ...

Hi,

first of all I want to thank all the people here giving their best to help each other out, a great community really.

Now I'm lurking in there's forums for a while now, but nothing could really help my case, however I could find some similarities between me and frequently posted topics.
