Re: Acer ? = 3840x2160 TN @ 75hz

Sensitive people dont want to see ANY flicker AT ALL.. at ANY refresh rate. I`m one of them. Normal people dont mind it if the refresh is high enough. Thats why you never see ULMB below 85hz or 100hz sometimes. Its a minority actually who have a skull so thick they wouldnt mind the flicker @ 30hz. ...

Re: BenQ Announce Curved 35" XR3501 with 144Hz VA Panel

This LCD probably will have an artificially capped refresh rate, which makes it a dumb buy. Pretty much all 144Hz LCDs could probably run at 160Hz-180Hz if they weren't capped.

Re: Sony FW900 or ROG Swift?

Sorry for hijacking this old thread: How was 3840x2400 interlaced achieved with the FW900? I've got a desktop with a SONY FW900 and two IBM T221 (stock DG5 and overclocked DG3). I'd like to use either 3840x2400 natively on the FW-900 or some sort of GPU downscaling. This way all screens would have ...

65" Seiki Overclocking

I am considering getting a 65" Seiki TV, but I will also be using it with a couch gaming PC and therefore do not want to be stuck at 30Hz or 60Hz. I saw in one HardForum thread that like the 39", the 65" Seiki has a capped refresh rate. The 39" Seiki is known to be flashable to the 50" firmware to r...

I am aware that there is more to displays than refresh rate. I think a high-res, high-refresh rate 4:3 LCD would be an interesting idea.

Building a strobed 2048x1536@160Hz LCD

Assuming that I can get a driver board capable of running the panel at 2048x1536@160Hz, how difficult would it be to install a strobe backlight? Is the response time on the NL204153AC21-25 even fast enough to allow strobing at 160Hz?

Very true. As of now, this is still just an idea.

Re: Considering producing SED/FED monitors... Critique neede

Yeah, any news? LMAO  SEDs are most likely not going to happen. However, if I could find someone willing to assemble them, I would consider distributing 2048x1536 170Hz LCDs, which is nowhere near as far-fetched as starting SED or CRT production. 21.5" 2048x1536 LCDs and DVI transmitters capab...

Re: MonoPrice Monitor 30" 2560x1600 @ 120hz

This monitor has caught my eye, but lack of sufficient reviews makes me hesitant, especially from TFTcentral. As I don't have a DVI-D, the cheaper overclockable korean panels are off the table. Being 30" and overclockable would be very nice. Do not buy this POS. It skips frames, making any overcloc...
