Looks dead to me, I would have wondered about GPU problems but you've tested it with a laptop too so it's not your desktop gpu. you shouldn't get banding like that even on the factory default settings. sorry man :-/ You *MUST* use the supplied Dual Link DVI-d cable when you get one back, and not VGA...

Shame no sign of this getting an official release. I see the XL2420Z is often coming with v004 and there's a discussion online here https://www.avforums.com/threads/shocking-customer-service-from-benq.1709804/ where they told a user to send their monitor in to update it to v006, I take it they're XL...

Monitor 6 is where it's at, I'd totally buy one if it did really well in reviews. If you really want to impress at the moment, despite having superior colour, you have to cover the ground that the current market is dominating, so 1080p at around 144hz or ideally better. Low blue light emission modes...
