Re: Looking for new 1080p 240hz VRR closest to CRT performance...
Same, I'm 45 now but have always been a gamer (genx) grew up through all stages of the PC evolution, ZX80 onwards - never a console kid. LCD's ruined my game completely and I used to play at top-level back in the day on various fps/team-based shooters. So I've changed my approach a bit here and bit ...

Re: Looking for new 1080p 240hz VRR closest to CRT performance...
OK, so my list of "demands" 1080p 240hz ELMB with voltage boosted strobing (that right? to keep picture bright whilst Blur Reduction is on) GSYNC or Freesync (VRR) The only monitor I know that ticks all of these boxes is the ASUS VG2x9QM, however, these just jumped up in price on Amazon, so I need t...

Re: IPS 240hz -> Acer Predator XB253QGXbmiiprzx ??
Necroing this thread as looking at the ACER XB253QGX myself now. Strobing limited to 120hz? does this mean for low motion blur you're getting like half the brightness? I use a XL2411Z 144hz running at 200hz with blur reduction on and the image is superbright (just a bit naff due to TN colours etc). ...

Re: ASUS TUF GAMING VG279QM
Yeah thats my Benq XL2411Z with ELMB on @ 200hz - it really is impressive vs the "standard" blur reduction at 144hz.
If it had freesync and I didn't have to mess about with OOR Buster etc I think it would be a keeper for now!

Re: ASUS TUF GAMING VG279QM
Seeing these images makes me wonder if I really need to spend £300 right now on an upgrade from my overclocked XL2411Z @ 200hz with ELMB... Motion detail is important to me as is response time, might abuse Amazon's return policy to see how much of a difference (of course going to IPS will have benef...

Re: Looking for new 1080p 240hz VRR closest to CRT performance...
Well looks like the XG2431 is delayed until July at the earliest and very doubtful it will fit into my price bracket (£300) as I'm intending on replacing 2 screens. Found a video comparing the XL2546 vs VG259QM and given the price difference (and IPS) the ASUS does extremely well (doesn't read as if...

Re: Looking for a new 1080p 144hz closest to CRT performance...
I gotta say how good the XL2411Z is overclocked to 200hz with ELMB on: Am I really going to get *much* better than this by going to say a XL2540 or VG297QM (which from tests I've seen cannot get this sharp?). If not, then I guess all I'm missing here is perhaps going to 240hz (as my rig can handle t...

Re: BenQ Zowie XL2546K 240hz TN
Thanks, yeah wasn't sure about the 259QM as read better things about the 279QM - don't care if its 24" or 27" at 1080p. VG279QM seems to be the go-to right now in this price bracket and can pick up for £299 (cheaper than the 259!?). XG2431 is going to be out of range really, looking to upgrade a cou...

Re: BenQ Zowie XL2546K 240hz TN
Is there a significant difference between the XL2540K and the XL2546K - I seem some slight diffs in features, but most *seem* to be missable... I can get the 2540K for £250 so it seems a good deal atm (but not if its "old" tech)... also considering VG259QM / V279QM... but I want this for competitive...

Re: BenQ UNIVERSAL 144Hz->220Hz OVERCLOCK for 1080p 144 Hz
I've just extended the life of my XL2411Z by overclocking to 200mhz and it seems solid as a rock - I know the guide said to do with blur reduction disabled but I had it on and its running 200mhz with blur reduction and the image is crystal clear. If I drop back to 144mhz and turn off blur reduction,...
