Re: LG 27” 1440P 480Hz OLED CES 2024

Anyone ever try removing one from a WOLED monitor before? I believe the plastic matte film on the monitor also has AR-substance layer and possibly polarizing filter on it. Not a good idea to remove it. First it's laminated to the glass so it might prove out to be very hard to remove without damagin...

Re: ZOWIE XL2566K Discussion Thread [24.5" 360hz TN]

Further findings with using Blur Busters Calibration Utility - and eye health. So, I've had some eye health issues with strobing technologies in the past. It has been very apparent with Zowie TN DYAC implementation. Every time, even after short session I started to feel a bit ill. Nothing huge, but ...

Re: ZOWIE XL2566K Discussion Thread [24.5" 360hz TN]

You need much faster moving speeds to notice a difference. At 1000 px/sec you won't notice sub 1ms MPRT (persistence). For 1000 px/sec motion to look perfectly sharp you need 1ms of MPRT, for 2000 px/sec you need 0.5ms MPRT, and so on... Zowie is always sub 1ms, I think 66K at premium is about 24% ...

Re: ZOWIE XL2566K Discussion Thread [24.5" 360hz TN]

I tried to do testing wether Strobe Calibration Utility "Persistence" setting does anything apart from changing brightness on XL2566K. It does not seem to actually vary pulse width of strobing - or atleast it does not have a visual effect on clarity if it does. If anything, brighter looks a tad clea...

Re: ZOWIE XL2566K Discussion Thread [24.5" 360hz TN]

I would like to emphasize that this panel is by far the most sensitive to temperature among the monitors that I tested. Running a Ufotest with Dyac right after switching on this monitor compared to when the panel finished warming up (~40mins) can result in drastically different results. What Crosst...

Hello, I see you have experience with Acer 390Hz one, can you share please your opinion on XL2566 and Acer 390hz(comparison)? I have been using Acer 390Hz more than half a year(and with VBR on), really eager to know how it stands in comparison to new Zowie TN, thank you in advance. I guess it comes...

Re: ZOWIE XL2566K Discussion Thread [24.5" 360hz TN]

Okay, so couple nights in with XL2566K. I'm impressed. My expectations for image quality were set low. So bearing that in mind, it's been really a delight. Standard color profile was on point out of the box after just enabling: custom color profile. First time ever I've seen white balance being perf...

Re: ZOWIE XL2566K Discussion Thread [24.5" 360hz TN]

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hjve7FehSGI Is the OptimumTech review of this monitor an accurate representation of how the colors look on this monitor? Looks better than my Viewsonic XG270 240hz and I'm really really trying to weigh the costs and benefits of upgrading. How is Dyac+? I've never use...

Re: the whole point of 240Hz OLED is better BFI?

You dont have to max out your Hz on every use case. For instance if you're playing AAA title. Settling for around 120Hz/fps can be perfectly valid option. But better is better and gives you more freedom of choice. There's a lot of competitive, older or retro titles that will greatly benefit from 240...

Re: Buying the Samsung G7 in 2022 ?

The new generation of VA panels by Samsung Display on G7 and G9 are actually really good with striking contrast. Even outperforming many TN and IPS in the same class. No black smear anymore. Often times I feel a bit under appriciated even. It's something I feel is easier to recommend than TN or even...
