Re: When will CRT simulation be available for Consoles?

I think TINK4K will be more worth while for modern consoles like Switch 2 & PS5, once 180hz QD-OLED's drop in Spring 2026, IF your content maxing out at 1080p. 180hz = 66% motion blur reduction, than just the current 50% @120hz, and there should be a little less latency with TINK4K's 180hz BFI as a ...

Re: oled vs 120hz Plasma Motion Clarity

The size probably won't cut it, but a 32" QD-OLED Monitor (240hz 'MSI UPX) paired with a RetroTINK4K will give you that 4ms persistence(75% motion blur reduction)

Next year, supposedly we're getting 180/200hz QD-OLED TV's. 180hz is compatible with TINK4K, which is a 5ms persistence(66% blur ...

Re: oled vs 120hz Plasma Motion Clarity

Just wanted to ask again, as the question is still open for me. We know with proof that some Plasmas (e.g. the VT50) is capable of 1280x720 @ 120Hz without skipping any frames, does this result in a lot lower persistence or is Plasma really limited by the phosphors?

Supposedly there also the PF50 ...

Re: When will CRT simulation be available for Consoles?

Sigh. We probably won't get 240hz QD-OLED TV's by 2030, or 2029 if we're lucky.

Uhm, no. We'll get 240Hz OLED TVs once HDMI 2.2 devices launch, like the RTX 6080 & PlayStation 6, in 2027.

Has that actually been confirmed?
PS6 might not be dropping later on in 2028. One YouTuber in ...

Re: External BFI Injection -- I am working with Retrotink 4K!

I'm thinking about picking up a 32" 240hz QD-OLED Monitor(MSI UPX), specifically for retro gaming, using a TINK4K.

Just wondering about the total amount of latency.

2ms > (TINK4K)
4ms > (TINK4K 240hz BFI)

But what about the latency coming from the monitor itself? Do I go by how much latency it ...

Re: When will CRT simulation be available for Consoles?

I had no idea that CRT simulation within TINK4K only works at 120hz, 180hz & 240hz when gaming at 60fps. But not 144hz & 165hz. In 2026 Spring, with something like the 180hz Samsung 'S95G' flagship QD-OLED, with TINK4K's CRS we'll be able to get >

2ms - TINK4K
5.5ms - 180hz CRT Simulation when ...

Re: When will CRT simulation be available for Consoles?

Ok, so i was recently told by RetroRGB(YouTube) That when gaming at 1080p with modern consoles, that TINK4K(With t's BFI or maybe CRT simulation) is compatible at either 120hz, 180hz or 240hz for 60fps titles.
Make sure you confirm with Mike (owner of RT4K) first. This isn't officially ...

Re: When will CRT simulation be available for Consoles?

Be careful -- there's severe bandwidth limitations at play because of bandwidth limitations -- since Retrotink 4K was designed for retro so make sure you are able to work with the bandwidth limitations. The higher the output is configured to, the less input resolution you can support, and vice ...

Re: When will CRT simulation be available for Consoles?

Thanks for the heads up! RetroTINK4K it is.

I'll have to back track and recheck some of the older replies you sent my way about it's 60hz BFI, and it's limitations. I really hope it can run 60fps games at 1080p, while using '144hz' BFI(58% MB reduction) while only adding 6.94ms of input lag from ...
