do any displays refresh "globally" instead of top to bottom?

The new Sony a9 III has a global shutter and it got me wondering, do any displays refresh globally instead of top to bottom? I'm sure the difference would be subtle but I know a lot of us here are quite sensitive to these types of things and we're perfectionists! Very curious to know more about this...

Re: PWM dimming on certain types of OLED's and artifacts

Thank you for replying, and so quickly too! And these OLED smartphones, the reason so many companies go with relatively low PWM frequencies is because it uses less battery?

PWM dimming on certain types of OLED's and artifacts

I saw these two mentions of PWM dimming in LCD's resulting in repeated images and effecting motion fluidity. Does this also apply to OLED displays that use PWM dimming such as an iPhone display? And if so, what PWM frequencies would say a 60Hz OLED have to be at to avoid these? https://blurbusters.c...

Dough's upcoming OLED monitor will be the first to support 240Hz BFI

https://www.flatpanelshd.com/news.php?subaction=showfull&id=1683706450 Hey I just saw this and I was wondering what people think about this because most people seemed focused on the higher frame rate technique for improving motion blur on OLED's, but isn't it true that the higher the refresh rate th...

is microLED the next big breakthrough for low blur?

Samsung is saying 2-nanosecond response time for their microLED's. Is this the display type that will bring us to 1000Hz and beyond?

Re: the whole point of 240Hz OLED is better BFI?

So could a 240Hz OLED allow a better BFI experience than a 120Hz OLED?

the whole point of 240Hz OLED is better BFI?

All these 240Hz OLED's coming out got me curious, what's really the benefit of 240Hz compared to 120Hz? I say this because, even for games that are capable of 240 FPS on a beastly PC, you have to drop the resolution and quality so much that it's not worth it, aren't you better off using higher res a...

Thank you so much for replying! So ya, plasma's are 60Hz, correct? Which means 60 FPS is the way to go on a plasma?

does framerate effect motion blur on a plasma?

Hello! I know the Blur Busters forum has many experts so I was hoping someone could help me out with this one: basically, does the frame rate of a game have an effect on the motion blur on a plasma tv? I know with LCD and OLED, the higher the FPS, the less motion blur. But does this also apply to pl...

Also, integer scaling should be a requirement for the "Blur Busters Approved" certification!
