Re: NVIDIA introduces DLSS3, interpolates frames, but is not v-sync compatible.

OK, but how would the game know what I'm looking at? Without instant eye tracking it can't. So adding motion blur to a game like this, which looks and feels aweseome enough at even 120, and surely better at properly strobed 240Hz display, is the wrong idea IMO. I think it's just a matter of approach...

Re: What are your suggestions for improving BFI?

You cannot have both smooth motion and clear image at the same time with movies. You'd need to flicker it all with 24Hz refresh (not even 48) and nobody would endure that for more than 2 seconds. Also, 24 is not enough to see detailed motion anyway. The stutter you mention has nothing to do with mot...

Re: NVIDIA introduces DLSS3, interpolates frames, but is not v-sync compatible.

I wasn't sure which Quake that was, so I played it safe in terms it's Quake 2 or 3.
And you managed to get an argument about it :D

Either way, 240p or 600p. Makes no difference. No aliasing of any sort at 2160p+MSAA.

Re: Blurred game although FPS high enough?

Unfortunately, you'll need a properly working Low Persistence mode to get rid of blur, and this model has this feature messed up. If it's even possible to get really clear image in motion on the LCD matrix of this type (VA) at higher refreshrates. It might not be. Look at this (timestamp): https://y...

Re: NVIDIA introduces DLSS3, interpolates frames, but is not v-sync compatible.

I hate to lose favourite historical forum members like Haste because the general forums are getting diluted. So I am simply guiding him to a different room in Blur Busters based on my familiarity of his past posts -- he probably visited for the first time in 2 years and then only briefly glanced at...

Re: NVIDIA introduces DLSS3, interpolates frames, but is not v-sync compatible.

I prefer the lossless, brute force approach whenever possible). I agree in terms of "lossless" but with current CPUs, we barely reach 120fps in current games. That's before the river takes us all with it, and pushes onto obstacles like Unreal Engine 5, ray-tracing etc. At current pace, we're moving...

Re: NVIDIA introduces DLSS3, interpolates frames, but is not v-sync compatible.

There's actually *some* credence to this, but for a different reason... Sure, I get what you're saying, but this guy does NOT use a proper, motion-capable display for his gaming, so him spreading the approach "motion blur is good for you" is simply bad. Also, what you're saying about people having ...

NVIDIA introduces DLSS3, interpolates frames, but is not v-sync compatible.

Hi This is just outragous. What a disappointment. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6pV93XhiC1Y Also, Digital Foundry "experts" say they don't know how to measure the motion clarity, saying that one bad frame between two good ones, cannot be seen. Maybe someone should tell them that low persistence mo...

Re: BFI for 30fps Content on 120hz(+) Display?

Hello, I wanted to ask a big question, do old CRT monitors (tube) run games at 30fps smooth? no ghosting? because 30fps on current monitors is terrible. Thanks and sorry for my english. Hi Your English is fine, no worries. :) Read this https://blurbusters.com/faq/motion-blur-reduction In particular...

Re: VESA wants to replace monitor response time specs with ‘ClearMR’ stamps

Completely omitting BFI from the scoring is stupid and basically a matter of industry politics. It's supposed to be an objective, all-encompassing, integrated measure of image quality during motion. So why disallow one technique for improving motion clarity? Pick one or more, as you wish - they lac...
