Re: 24p BFI Solutions / Sources [SOLUTION: RT4K BFI]
I will begin talking to Mike about adding alphablend softeners to BFI, but you will definitely need 200Hz for the "50%, 100%, 50%, 0%" four output refresh sequence per input refresh cycle. This feature is theoretically easy and will consume only a few % of the contract budget.
Just a random ...

Re: Significant RetroArch BFI Update
Man, just coming back here to post that I'm sad that I can't get BFI working properly with HDR enabled with RetroArch.
RetroArch and HDR is fine on my setup (running at 180hz), but when I enable BFI it's like the colors go dim, pop, dim, pop randomly on top of also doing BFI.
Wonder if anyone else ...

Re: LG CX vs. RetroTINK-4K BFI - confusing...
IMPORTANT: There are input signal and output signal bandwidth limitations due to memory bandwidth performance. For example, 1080p60 input and 1080p240 output is not possible without overclocking the Retrotink 4K

Re: Significant RetroArch BFI Update
Piggybacking off of the last post.
I don't think the BFI random flicker problem is solvable with cores that can have variable frame rates. For anything that's like Dreamcast, GameCube and newer, BFI in RetroArch isn't properly implemented to handle it.
Your best bet is to either just accept it ...

Re: Anyone know of any non-curved 32" 240hz monitors on the horizon?
Actually, ignore this!
My LG 32" 180hz monitor actually does BFI solid now once I turn off all RetroArch shaders and audio sync to "OFF".
If I turn on any sort of shader, no matter how basic, it does the random flickering from time to time.
Video shaders completely off, no problem at all.

Anyone know of any non-curved 32" 240hz monitors on the horizon?
So, I purchased an LG32GP850-B 32" 1440p 165hz monitor, which OCs to 180hz, for my arcade cabinet.
I was originally planning to utilize it with RetroArch's BFI at 180hz.. but, actually, the monitor really runs at 179.96hz when OC'd, which introduces a slight flicker now and then in RetroArch which ...

Re: Suggestions for monitor for arcade cabinet at various sizes (60hz+Low/No Blur?)
Sorry for the bump on my own post, what do you think about the LG-27GP850-B monitor?
It seems to be Nano (Fast) IPS along with the ability to OC to 180hz from 165hz. I guess I'll end up connecting via DP anyway if I'm going 180hz route.
Looks like I might be able to take advantage of 180hz with ...

Re: Suggestions for monitor for arcade cabinet at various sizes (60hz+Low/No Blur?)
Thanks for the info! That is a 2016 monitor?
Maybe if I went the software BFI route, I'd have to make sure to use Fast IPS or die trying!

Re: Suggestions for monitor for arcade cabinet at various sizes (60hz+Low/No Blur?)
I tried that here, and the image retention issues are severe. After only a minute or so, parts of the panel retained images of past frames. It took over 30 minutes for the panel to recover and the retention to disappear.
Do you think that it could just be your monitor? Maybe not all monitors ...

Re: Suggestions for monitor for arcade cabinet at various sizes (60hz+Low/No Blur?)
Motion blur reduction is top for me. Reading more, I guess I should be aiming for 50 to 100 nits after apply motion blur reduction.
