Re: Strobing with active shutter glasses?
I have done a bunch of experiments like this. There is a program that can change the timings of the Nvidia 3D Vision glasses (https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/geforce/forums/3d-vision/41/1011/using-the-3d-vision-glasses-you-can-now-tweak-you/). You can see the effects after just alt+tabbing into the gam...

Re: G-Sync and ULMB at the same time is in fact possible!
Not saying Rivatuner Scanline Sync is bad or anything. It's just different. The point of G-Sync+ULMB is getting low input lag, getting almost zero motion blur, never getting tearing, and never getting repeated frames (above 40fps) and their associated judder. At the cost of variable brightness and v...

Re: PCSX2 (and others) with black frame insertion
I have updated the Sega fix with 3 more hotkeys that control the black frame insertion blending. One of them with 10% steps from 0% to 100% (first press starting at 10%), and two "hold" type hotkeys for better fine tuning (+-0.25% per frame held). Values over 30% are pretty useless, but options are ...

Re: PCSX2 with black frame insertion
Before reading your comment, instead of checking RetroArch again I added BFI to my SEGA Mega Drive & Genesis Classics (https://helixmod.blogspot.com/2018/06/sega-mega-drive-genesis-classics.html). The special thing about this one is that BFI only applies to the TV in the virtual room and the fullscr...

Re: PCSX2 with black frame insertion
I'm limited to what 3Dmigoto can do. I don't think I can analyze for example the color of a pixel and save it to then change a variable on the next frame. I would have to ask the 3Dmigoto developers about that or request it. Then even if I can get an average of the pixels or a hash or whatever, then...

PCSX2 (and others) with software-based black frame insertion
I have been adding more and more features to my PCSX2 3D Vision fix: https://helixmod.blogspot.com/2018/01/pcsx2-dx11.html Most of them related to 3D, and some others that can work for everyone. The one I'm going to talk about is black frame insertion. 30fps games in this emulator always show 60fps ...

Re: Acer X27: Linus Shows Off New 4k 144hz Panel/Monitor
no ULMB. So the Asus has it (IIRC) but not the Acer? I wonder why, because these two monitors are basically the same thing, right? Thanks for the review. It would be cool if someone tested G-Sync + ULMB on the Asus, and maybe 3D Vision too (maybe it'll have to use ULMB instead of Lightboost, becaus...

Re: How do I enable 60hz ULMB?
One theoretical possibility is that PG278QR isn't compatible with the ULMB 60Hz hack We had a PM conversation a day after this. And yes, everything works fine in the Asus PG278QR, which is my monitor. It can single strobe from 37Hz to 127Hz. For single strobing with ULMB+G-Sync, the more reliable r...

Re: ULMB+GSYNC "Hack" // How to tell it's working?
Isn't the (ULMB+G-Sync) hack only working witin 85-120Hz or is it more exactly, 75-120Hz? No. The hack works in single strobed mode from ~40Hz to your maximum refresh rate (defined by your custom resolution). Under that ~40Hz number it will start to double strobe. Flickering heavily depends on the ...

Re: 3D Stereo on current crop of monitors/TVs?
I play 99% of games in 3D Vision 2 so I think I qualify. My experience consists of these monitors: - BenQ XL2411Z - Dell S2716DG (rev A01) - Asus PG278QR For 3D TVs and projectors you should ask here (in existing threads preferably): https://forums.geforce.com/default/board/49/3d-vision/ I'm current...
