Re: Example Blur Busters Success Story: Incubating Research on Mouse 1000Hz vs 8000Hz
Hello, Often, human observations are reported and other people think it's placebo. That's the problem -- sometimes tests are not yet invented to test for something we saw with our eyes. Most gaming mice are 1000Hz, but I was a long-time proponent of 2000Hz+ mice for years. No major mouse manufactur...

Re: OLED BFI Options?
One thing that's irritating with the LG C1's 120hz BFI, is that it's motion Pro low, medium & high settings, again when gaming at 120fps, gradually causes this weird unnatural harsh darkening(Not talking about brightness loss) with the image, the higher your go. I'm not entirely sure if it's shadow...

Re: Very bad news about VR. They're chosing HDR over motion quality
The psvr2 is a massive disappointment for me so far. Core gamers wanted more AAA games. Instead we have lack of any teasers for AAA VR games for 2023 and 2024, and focusing on social features instead (foveated rendering is more for social than it is for performance, as its cost could improve the ex...

Re: How does Red Frame Insertion work and does it have the potential I think does?
I have a curved VA panel that uses KSF phosphor here, so it's not unique to Nano IPS. Your red frame insertion is probably suggestive of this... If you enable the strobing feature (motion blur reduction feature), and then see a trailing red phosphor ghosting effect (CRT-style ghosting) at www.testu...

Re: How does Red Frame Insertion work and does it have the potential I think does?
This is more likely red KSF phosphor decay rather than intentional red frame insertion. It's used for expanding color gamut but it adds artifacts to backlight strobing. Red pulse doesn't go full off instantly, it decays, so the image leaks through. Excellent catch. Yes, KSF phosphor decay can creat...

[KSF phosphor] How does Red Frame Insertion work and does it have the potential I think does?
I have an AOC ultrawide monitor and while I was messing around with the OSD, I noticed there was an option called "MBR" (motion blur reduction) and I decided to turn it on and look at it through a slow-motion camera out of curiosity. I was expecting to see black frames in between the frames or some ...

Re: Isn't QD-OLED perfect for backlight strobing?
Long Term Ultrabight HDR OLEDs + Rolling Scan Strobe Ultrabright HDR-capable OLEDs, with rolling-scan logic, can do a lagless strobe. Far more complex to strobe than global strobing, but fully lagless like a CRT tube. Requires blue/ultraviolet TFT OLED backplanes with individually controllable subp...

Isn't QD-OLED perfect for backlight strobing?
I've been reading a lot about backlight strobing and learned that OLED's strobing capabilities are mainly held back by it's low brightness and this is because of Talbot Plateu's law. Talbot Plateu's law from what I understand means that you loose brightness proportional to gains in motion clarity (r...
