Great comparison! What I'm wondering is why is the black outline on the TN panel so much thicker than the IPS one? And does that have any visible or noticeable effect in games?

It is also interesting that, according to AMD, more such monitors are on the way from other manufacturers
"...though AMD says similar high-res, high-refresh designs are on the way from Dell, LG, Acer, and Asus, starting in 'early 2023.' More info will be revealed at CES in January..."

Re: Monitor recommendation
one of the big upside of the XL2546K are the color, black equalizer and sharpness settings. IPS colors bleed. Example: if a enemy in a green outfit is laying in the grass, or a dark enemy in the shadows a IPS panel will have hard time distinguish the 2. where on the zowie its no problem. If u care ...

Re: Monitor recommendation
In my own experience I would definitely say that's not true. I do not think it's easier to see enemies on IPS. It is, however, certainly easier to see them on 1440p screens (I have one of those too). Oh, interesting! Thank you very much. XL2566K vs Asus' new 1440p panel will be a really tough choic...

Re: Monitor recommendation
Can I ask why? I have a 240 Hz TN monitor and a 390 Hz IPS monitor. I vastly prefer the look and feel of the TN panel but ultimately use the 390 Hz IPS for the faster refresh rate and lower latency. I would definitely go with the Zowie XL2566K in your position. Or you could go for the new ASUS PG27...

Re: esports 1440p 360hz displays announced
Actually looks like TN is still a hair faster. Zowie doesn't need as much overdrive gain to achieve same avg response, at least at 360Hz (OD 15 vs OD Normal). But god they are close! This is awesome! But since "10%-90% of luminance" was measured when measuring with 0% to 100% GtG instead, could the...

Re: esports 1440p 360hz displays announced
Pursuits are still usable tho. From what I see both XL' and PG' are measured with same "10-90% of luminance" method so yes. But keep in mind its not really a 1.5 ms due to choice of this method. Actually PG's extreme overdrive has the same avg 21,6% overshoot as XL's premium overdrive. So that's pe...

Re: esports 1440p 360hz displays announced
He compared different movement speeds! Faster moving speeds will always look blurrier/smearer. So its not really a apples to apples comparison. Just something to keep in mind. Oh that's unfortunate but good to know, thanks. Can his response time charts be used for a apples to apples comparison? Bil...

Re: A monitor with no compromise? does it exist?
You can't get it all in one display unfortunately. What framerates goals do you have? What framerates do you want to blur-reduce? High frame rates or low frame rates? Is absolute best colors OR absolute zero blur more important? Pick one of two. Etc. What if you buy an E-TN panel for brute framerat...
