Re: Can somebody explain this? [Apex Legends issue]

Your system is a bit on the lower end of things for playing Apex, especially if you're trying to play 1080p. Make sure all video settings are LOW/OFF (except for NVIDIA Reflex: ENABLED and BOOST). Try 720p, it'll look a bit blockier but your GPU will handle much easier.

Re: 300hz Acer XV272UKF / XB273UKF hands on experience

I didn't use any calibration tools. As I mentioned before my main use is Apex, so that's what I've set my monitor to mainly. Its quite high gamma and contrast but its what I like for FPS gaming. Probably not ideal for other tasks, but I'm comfortable. Can use the monitor all day without eye strain e...

Re: 300hz Acer XV272UKF / XB273UKF hands on experience

I could not replicate your 277 FPS / Hz issue with DP 1.4 either. Not sure what's going on there. 2560x1440 can alt-tab instantly with certain games it seems, but still have the 3 second issue on some games and with 16:10 (for example CS:GO on 2560x1440 tabs instantly for me). DDU/CRU may solve this...

Re: 300hz Acer XV272UKF / XB273UKF hands on experience

I'm using HDMI 2.1 on RTX 4090, my main use is 16:10 (2304x1440 @ 300 Hz) on Apex Legends, don't really care about HDR, v-sync or strobing. What I found: #1 In this particular order: Turn VRB OFF Turn FreeSync On in Display and Windows Start a game and turn V-Sync on Un-cap FPS Engage FPS counter Co...

Re: 300hz Acer XV272UKF / XB273UKF hands on experience

Just got my XV272U KF yesterday, and yup I've been checking out different settings and the like. I gotta find out if running FreeSync is worth it, how good OD normal vs overdrive is, etc. Visual tests and input lag tests, and getting the colors how I want them is always a struggle. I'll check back i...

Re: looking for 1080p TN/IPS 240hz-280hz for Apex (tested many)

I used a VG259QM (IPS) for a couple years playing Apex, its a great monitor. The TN version (VG258QM) likely very similar. I too get eye strain from IPS, but I can play Apex for 4 hours straight and be fine on the VG259QM, however when being in windows browsing internet or whatever I would get eye s...

Re: PG27AQN cant create custom res in Nvidia panel.

Just a personal update, I decided to go with Acer Nitro XV272U KF 1440P 300 Hz HDMI 2.1, went on sale on Amazon for $720 USD, that's $330 less than the PG27AQN. I lose 60 Hz off the top at 16:9 but now I should have the freedom to do 300 Hz on any res/ratio up to 1440p, even with 10 bit colors (vs 8...

Re: PG27AQN cant create custom res in Nvidia panel.

This is certainly frustrating to learn. From what I've been able to find online from all sources, you must be on 1920x1080 (16:9), 2368x1332 (16:9), or 2560x1440 (16∶9) to be able to run 360 Hz (with DSC). 16:10 resolutions (and any others) seem to be locked to regular DisplayPort 1.4 specs (or HDMI...
