Re: Much Less CrossTalk in Firefox vs Chrome XB270HU

Just an idea:

What if baffle is experiencing stutters in chrome that he is not experiencing in firefox?

Repeated frames under backlight strobbing operation gives the "double image" artifact. Which looks very similar to strobe crosstalk.

Re: Laptop display overclock (90hz achieved stable)

Congratulations!

A 30Hz difference might not sound like much, but coming from 60Hz, it gives a very noticeable improvement!

Enjoy the improved smoothness on your laptop! :)

Re: LG 24GM79G-B 144hz

Yep. Like Chief said. Not to mention that at equal frequency, LCD backlight strobbing flicker is harsher to the eye than CRT flicker. I'm glad I don't have to subject myself to 50Hz flicker nowadays. I hated it. Even on a tiny TV, it was very harsh to me. I'm lucky not to get headaches from flickeri...

Re: NVIDIA Demonstrates Experimental 16,000Hz AR Display

I don't think it will help at all. GPUs are not capable of such framerates. My favorite multiplayer game was (I stopped playing it) a 2D shooter that I could run at several thousands frames per second. We need to signal to game developers that performance matters and that the future is high frame r...

Re: NVIDIA Demonstrates Experimental 16,000Hz AR Display

It would also completely eliminate mouse dropping effects too -- no matter how fast the mouse cursor moved, it would be a continuous motion blur (cursor position updates every pixel) rather than dotted / phantom array. You'd be able to fixed-gaze (e.g. a crosshairs) and the background would scroll ...

Re: How accurate is this post?

@Haste, part of what you're describing is "judder," something not limited to gaming, but also seen during panning with film sources. "Stutter" is more commonly described as a sudden interruption in otherwise seamless perceived movement, while "judder" is simply the side effects of a super low conti...

Re: How accurate is this post?

I'm not sure if I agree with RealNC's explanation on this. The way I see it, nothing on a display is perfectly smooth. At least when we are talking about frame rates such as 60fps and under. What cause the feeling of slowing>speeding up is the fact that we are dealing with motions that are composed ...
