Re: Low-persistence OLED in latest Oculus Rift prototype

Ah you beat me to it! I'm liking this very much, though I have little interest in the Oculus Rift itself.

Re: G-SYNC Upgrade Board Giveaway - FIVE boards! [complete]

Sincere congratulations to the winners! Can't wait to see what you guys have to say about G-Sync. For my part, I think I'm less disappointed I didn't win than I am the upgrade kit costs $200. Better start saving!

Wooo doggie that's one hot monitor. I'll have to keep reminding myself that I can't afford the graphics card(s) needed to drive that resolution at that frame rate so I don't break into nervous sweats.

Re: Why 4k? Why not call it 2160p?

What's funny is that "Ultra High Definition" was chosen to be the official terminology about a year ago by the Consumer Electronics Association with the express goal of replacing the use of 4K. But 4K had already caught on and I haven't seen "UHD" pop up very often or at all since.

Re: nVidia's CES Press Conference

I definitely want more G-Sync info, but those mobile chips look pretty interesting. I'm interested to get more details on the Denver CPU in particular.

Re: King Arthur II's developer believes 24fps is fluid enoug

Actually, I don't mind my films at 24fps. I found the Hobbit at 48fps kind of odd to watch. I guess it's more a matter of special effects keeping pace with higher frame rates, though, since my real problem with it was how it laid bare a lot of the effects. That said, this sort of disproves any argum...

It was possible you didn't post in the intended forum and since there was no explicit mention of lightboost in your post, I simply wanted to clarify.

Re: LightBoost Sequel: ULMB (Ultra Low Motion Blur)

so ULMB only works at standard light boost frequencies(100 and 120)? ULMB is currently available at 85Hz/100Hz/120Hz. That said, BENQ Blur Reduction is more flexible, allowing strobing in 1Hz increments, all the way from 75Hz through 144Hz. The modes are rather very similar, with very similar strob...

Re: Help me spend $6000 on a wicked media center

I'm aware of the Cyanogenmod project. Because Google is indeed Evil I like the idea of a Community coming together a providing solutions without the trojan rent-seeking corporations are naturally prone to. Mostly I'm just going to use a 7" tablet as an advance TV Guide / Remote so I'm just going to...
