Re: Eye Health and strobe backlight
Thanks for the answer. I've read that the feelings from different types of monitors are very personal; I just wanna be sure that it goes no further then that. Every man would change monitor or monitor work mode or a setup if he feels sick while working/gaming on it, but is there any long-term effec...

Re: Best way to test display lag?
Well, you can try the dumb method. Use two identical computers, with identical settings, with two identical mice, glue those mice together, then move windows around is see if one monitor seems to lag behind. The setup would look rather funny :-D Edit: Maybe you can get away with just one computer, ...

Re: Maximum Pre-rendered Frames and how it works
It is worth noting, to work efficiently, SLI requires this be left untouched, downwards anyways (which is the default of 3) I use SLI and it won't let me set anything other than "Use the 3D application setting" on mine. So I'm assuming it is up to the game on how to handle it. If I had a choice I w...

Re: G-Sync and FPS Games
I'm running SLI 770s and a 4770k OC'd to 4.5Ghz and I have most of my settings on low but I have lighting and filtering on medium.
I rarely dip below 120 and sometimes I get in the 300s too. On the test range I get a pretty consistent 200 FPS.

Re: DIY kits are now available!
I think they only charge tax if the business has a building in your state. They didn't charge me sales tax and I'm in Pennsylvania. NVidia doesn't have anything in Minnesota as far as I can tell. And I think the law is if they are selling it to you from that state you have to pay state sales tax. F...

Re: DIY kits are now available!
The G-SYNC DIY kits are now available to be ordered from the NVidia store. Just letting everybody know... Thanks, I just ordered one. I was watching the G-SYNC page and they never updated it. It is pretty expensive, especially after they add shipping and tax. Why tax!? Subtotal: $199.00 Shipping: $...

Re: Benq Monitors for Console Gaming (PS4)
For console use I would just get a cheap 2ms response time low input lag 60hz 1080p LCD.

Re: Low-persistence OLED in latest Oculus Rift prototype
I haven't heard anything official, but judging from how Carmack talked about combining G-SYNC and low persistence at the NVIDIA conference I have a feeling that is their end goal.Samhain wrote:Does Oculus have plans to add variable refresh rate (FreeSync or G-SYNC) to the Rift??
