Btw about the VG248QE and the XL2411Z/2720Z,

in lightboost mode (which all the monitors use), they all look virtually the same if you lower the contrast to 0 on the Benq monitors.
The 2411Z looks IDENTICAL to the VG248QE if you lower contrast to 0, and the 2720Z looks very damn close.

Well, I feel less crazy already. Like I said, I understand uniformity is an issue, but man...it seems REALLY far from what it should be. Picture of my 23" Apple Aluminum Cinema HD display for comparison (be kind, it's not calibrated), which is a TN panel as well...albeit clearly a higher grade TN ...

I would just be happy to see 144hz refresh rate monitors get more mainstream attention. I couldn't find one in a B&M store anywhere in my area, so I had to buy one just to check it out. I think more people would appreciate it if they actually got to see it in action.
